Goal 1:  Financial Plan

To protect, enhance and generate funds through skating related activities. 

 

Goal 2:  Communication

To enhance skating through the OSC activities of

1.      Regional/ statewide training camp

Joint IJS seminar to be held in conjunction with Pacific Northwest Interclub Association

2.      Invitation statewide to OSC picnic with per person fee

All Club OSC picnic to be held at Oaks Park in June, 2007

3.      Bidding for regional competition

Success in bidding for 2008 Pacific Coast Adult Sectionals

4.      Starlight parade

5.      Macy’s Christmas parade

6.      Synchro teams

a.)     One year of financial support was provided to one synchro team who competed at Nationals.  Due to lack of interest on the part of the skaters, this support was stopped.

b.)    A new program was developed for skaters who have passed juvenile and higher tests.  This is called the “Qualified Skater Program” and is held once a week.

OSC coordinates the test session schedule and reimbursement of judges travel expenses throughout all OSC member clubs.

Goal 3:  Officials Advancement

1.      Identify and encourage qualified candidates:  skaters, coaches, parents, groupies, high school/college, theatre and music, tech programs.

Financial support was increased to continue to support the advancement of officials.

2.      Develop mentoring program for competition chairs and test chairs.

a.)     Test chairs met from all clubs to coordinate this year’s test schedule.

b.)    Dance test CDs have been ordered for all member clubs to insure uniform testing.

c.)     An OSC competition committee was formed to coordinate application fees, ordering of mini-system, and development of medal for skaters competing in all 3 summer competitions.

3.      Cultivate judges from other areas.

The president of OSC has created a database of Oregon judges e-mail addresses and uses this to inform them of any OSC decisions which affect them.

 

Goal 4 and 5:  Coordination of Services and Activities and Outreach to Other Clubs

To function and coordinate the activities on a collective effort for all Oregonians by participation in:

1.      Website

Website provides access to information and forms.

2.      Newsletter

3.      Coordinate among the local clubs all activities that require joint action or coordination

a.)     Eugene Figure Skating Club reactivated its membership this year. 

b.)    Southern Oregon Figure skating Club is becoming involved and hopes to become an OSC member in July 2007.

c.)     OSC will have its January meeting in Salem as it is midway between Portland and Eugene.

d.)    OSC held its first teleconference with PNIC member clubs.  OSC hopes to perfect teleconferencing in an effort to help Southern Oregon transition into active status with OSC.

e.)     OSC and PNIC are working together to present an IJS seminar to skaters, coaches, and judges of the Pacific Northwest states.
